modernLINK Policy Maintenance enables you to cancel a policy.
Prior to starting a cancellation, it is advisable to check the policy for any open diaries. Since cancellations cannot be saved and re-started, should you choose to check the open diary after the cancellation process is begun, you will have to abandon the cancellation and re-start it after you check the open diary(-ies).
In addition to adhering to underwriting rules for any given product, these conditions apply to cancellations
A policy must not have a status of incomplete or cancelled. For a pending cancellation status, the cancel effective date must be prior to the effective date of the pending cancel. To cancel a cancelled policy, for example, to change the effective date, you must first reinstate the policy.
The policy cannot be locked due to another user making an update.
A cancellation in process cannot be "saved" in modernLINK; the transaction is lost if not fully executed.
Not all cancellation reasons are available to all users.
To cancel a policy:
Search for and open the policy.
The Policy Information page opens.
Click the Policy Actions tab.
Click Cancel Policy.
The Cancel Policy page opens.
Follow the steps to cancel the policy.
