modernLINK Policy Maintenance enables you to reinstate a cancelled policy.
These conditions apply to reinstatements:
A policy must have a status of Cancelled to be reinstated.
The policy cannot be locked due to another user making an update.
Reinstatements can be backdated up to 60 days.
Reinstatement with lapse is not possible at this time; the reinstatement effective date must be equal to the effective date of the last cancellation transaction.
A reinstatement transaction does not permit changes to the policy.
If a policy is rewritten to another policy and the rewritten policy number is active, the original policy cannot be reinstated.
Reinstating a policy cancelled for non-payment requires special internal American Modern privileges. This applies to both direct bill and agency bill.
To reinstate a policy:
Search for and open the policy.
The Policy Information page opens.
Click the Policy Actions tab.
Click Reinstate Policy.
The Reinstate Policy page opens.
Follow the steps to reinstate the policy.
