Underwriting Exceptions

The Underwriting Exceptions page provides a place for you to view any overrides that were applied to underwriting rules by your Underwriting Authority. Additionally, authorized Underwriting personnel can use this page to add/remove/modify overrides.

The status of a quote requiring an override is Declined Risk. Not all conditions can be overridden. If override is an option, modernLINK informs you via a message, you save the quote and contact your Underwriting Authority via phone or diary to review it.

Type of Override

Term: The override applies to the current term only. The rule will fire again at renewal provided the override has not been changed from Term to Lifetime.

Lifetime: The override applies for the life of the policy. An underwriter can change from Lifetime to Term. While the override is "held" for the life of the policy, there are exceptions to this.
