Watercraft: Dinghies/Dories/Skiffs

Dinghies, sometimes referred to as "tenders," are used to commute from shore to a boat or ship moored offshore. A dinghy is any type of small, open boat, such as a row boat or life boat.

Dinghies can be rowboats, or small boats powered by small motors.

A small inflatable watercraft qualifies as a dinghy.

A dory is similar to a dinghy but with a wider, flatter hull , sharp prow and higher sides. A skiff is very similar to a dory, with a square stern.
