Anti-Theft Devices

Check all anti-theft devices that are in place to protect the unit. Options are:
 

Alarm only

Must sound an audible alarm that can be heard at a distance of at least 300 feet.

 

Ignition/Starter Cutoff Switch and/or Steering Column Collar

Ignition or Starter Cutoff Switch – an active device that disables the vehicle by making the starter or ignition system inoperative, in  combination with flush or tapered door lock buttons; or;

Steering Column Collar – An armored collar which clamps on the steering column over the ignition lock.

 

Fuel Cutoff Device, Steering Wheel Lock, Armored Cable Hood Lock + Ignition Cutoff Switch, and/or Passive Ignition/Starter Cutoff

Active Fuel Cutoff Device - makes the fuel system inoperative;

Steering Wheel Lock - permanently attached and consists of a steel collar and barrel and whose lock is operated by a tubular key;

Armored Cable Hood lock + Ignition Cutoff Switch.

Passive Ignition/Starter Cutoff –Disables the ignition or starting system without any manual intervention.

 

Armored Ignition Cutoff Switch, Supplemental Hood Lock +Ignition Cutoff Switch, and/or Specified Alarms

Armored Ignition Cutoff Switch – designed to resist tampering and prevent hot-wiring of the motor vehicle.

Supplemental Hood Lock + Ignition Cutoff Switch – An armored cable or electrically operated hood lock which is a supplemental hood lock operated from within the motor vehicle and an ignition cutoff switch."

Specified Alarms – An alarm that is equipped with the following items:

Hood lock which can be released only from inside the vehicle by a key or electronic keyless device;

Maintain a self-resetting, 8 minute maximum alarm installed within the engine compartment;

Shall be disarmed by a tubular lock or electronic keyless device; and

Automatic ignition or starter cut-off device.

 

Passive Disabling Device

A passive device means a separate manual step is not required to engage the device.  These disable the vehicle by making the fuel, ignition or starting system inoperative.

 

VIN Etching

Vehicle Identification Number is etched into vehicle’s widows and/or body parts.

 

Vehicle Recovery System

Vehicle is equipped with an operational anti-theft and recovery device consisting of an electronic homing device used in conjunction  with a participating policy agency and using a radio frequency network allocated by the Federal Communications Commission. When activated, the electronic homing device allows law enforcement agencies to track the stolen vehicle."

 

High Security Ignition Replacement Lock

Ignition replacement lock that conforms to federal standards and can not be removed using a conventional slide hammer or lock puller equipment.
